I sometimes have an aching feeling when I think about how fast you are growing and how quickly time flies. There is nothing in the world that compares to your sweet smell, dimples on your teeny baby bottom, pudgy arms and legs, and soft soft skin. I sometimes find myself holding you close and never wanting to let you go. Don't get me wrong...we definitely have our moments...you are completely dependent on me and your Dad for everything and sometimes this is hard. I don't get as much sleep, can get overwhelmed by the details of managing a baby, and can get frustrated when you are fussy at inconvenient times. But I love you. So much. And I ache for you when I'm not with you. And I twinge when I think about how fast you are growing. It is simply bittersweet because I love watching your personality develop but I can't help but think that you will never be this little again! And it goes too fast! I read this quote on the internet and it hit home:
A baby is a pure, innocent, beautiful embodiment of love. And her mother has the distinct privilege, the unparalleled joy, of watching love grow. Don’t blink. You’ll miss it.
Mothering you has softened my heart, stretched my patience, filled me with joy, and grown me in ways unimaginable. I know that this season of babyhood won't last forever so I am savoring each moment. I love you to the moon!
Love,
Mom
Love,
Mom
Things I Don't want to Forget
At your 4 month check up, you measured in at 25" and 15lb 9 oz.
The last weekend of May was full of developmental milestones! You found your feet AND rolled over for the first time - twice! On Saturday you rolled belly to back and on Sunday you rolled back to belly! I was so proud of you! I never thought I'd be so giddy over a rolling baby, but the love I have for you is so big it makes me so excited and proud.

Everyone always says, "look at that hair" when they see you.
The second thing people comment on are your beautiful blue eyes! Will they stay blue? Or will they change color?

You love to stare at ceiling fans.
After every yawn, sneeze, and cough you make the cutest little "sigh"...I laugh every time you do it and when I'm not with you, I catch myself smiling and thinking about you doing it. It is precious.
You search for your thumb a lot and everything that you grasp now goes to your mouth - toys, clothes, blankets, etc.
When we smile and talk to you, sometimes you smile back and turn your head like you are being shy. Other times you will smile and coo. This brings us so much joy!
Your cooing sounds completely melt my heart.
You like to stick your tongue out!
Standing up (with assistance) is one of your favorite activities. You know when we are about to pull you up in the standing position and you immediately straighten your legs pop right up!
Abigail is constantly lifting her head off the floor like she is doing crunches. She is a strong girl!
I love her many facial expressions!
