Birthday Trip to Florida

Jake and I spent a wonderful long weekend in Florida visiting John and Alma and celebrating Jake's 29th birthday. We can get pretty cheap direct flights through Allegiant Air from Knoxville to Orlando. I think the flight down was $32/person and the flight back was around $100/person. Can't really beat that!

Unfortunately, I didn't take my camera, but I used Jake's phone to take a picture of their beautiful historical home. I love visiting this home...it is the perfect shade of blue, has so much character and the most relaxing front porch and swing. The first time I visited John and Alma in Florida was January 2009...I flew down from snowy Ohio and slept on the swing on the screened in porch one night because the Florida weather was so perfect!

They have a lemon tree in their yard for making homemade lemonade. While we were there we also picked fresh grapefruit and oranges. They were soo yummy! I would love to have these fruits growing in my backyard!!

We enjoyed the warmer weather (it was snowing in Knoxville) by walking around Eustis for First Friday. On Saturday, Jake and his Dad spent time together doing house projects and taking a ride in the Caddy while Alma and I went shopping.

Thanks for a fun, relaxing weekend John and Alma!
